Drifter Byron Bay – A Bougie Hostel That Feels Like a Boutique Hotel Drifter is a very bougie “hostel”; it honestly feels more like a boutique hotel. The rooms are beautifully designed, and the décor throughout the social spaces gives off serious Hamptons energy. If you’re a little extra and want somewhere stylish and comfortable to stay in Byron, look no further. Everything feels fresh, new, and well-organised. The bathrooms and showers are spotless and plentiful, and the beds even have curtains! That’s such a rare touch in Australian hostels, and it makes a world of difference for privacy and comfort. My only small gripe would be that the floors in the rooms could use a quick sweep during the day with everyone coming in from the beach, a bit of sand tends to build up. It’s not a big deal, just something to watch out for so your bed doesn’t get sandy. I didn’t mention it to staff because they were already so lovely and helpful, and I didn’t want to be a bother. The pool area is super chill, a perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring or doing activities before the Byron nightlife kicks off. All in all, what a place. I highly recommend staying here if you want the perfect mix of comfort, style, and good vibes.

Very good hostel. My girlfriend and I stayed in a 6 bed ensuite room, the room was spacious and had lots of storage/hooks for belongings. The bathroom was a nice space and shower was good, although the communal showers were just as good. …
