My wife & I BOOKED 3 sites for 2025 Labour Day long weekend. As are most NP’s, Carrington is a beautiful spot. A short walk away from camp are Blue Pool & Nellies Glen fall swimming holes. The water was 🥶 but refreshing. There’s a long drop camp toilet off an adjacent carpark. Keep in mind that if you go during peak periods (long weekend/ holidays) that you may have to line up to use it due to the high amount of traffic for the swimming holes. This unfortunately seems to add to rubbish being left around the area. Note that as there’s no firepit provided, charcoal fires are banned. But despite this and a quite windy day, it didn’t stop some pelicans at Nellie’s Glen from lighting a fire to cook, which had quite a large flame going, resulting in 2 Fire trucks and 2 Police Cars attending to douse the fire and hopefully charge the culprits. This was a concern as we were expecting to have to evacuate. Another issue during peak times are the amount of people arriving late attempting to find a camp spot that we had to turn away. Just imagine if any of these people were antagonistic, what then? 🤷🏻‍♂️ And of the 3 nights we stayed, we were woken up at 2am EVERY single night by people driving around the site, parking and then walking around with torches, talking loudly trying to decide where they were going to go 🙄 This is ridiculous considering NPWS have an online booking process. These experiences create anxiety, particularly for the 2 girls staying next to us as I had turned away cars of young men looking to camp despite all sites being booked and paid for. On a positive note, our 2 ‘Latin dancing’ neighbours on the 1 site we didn’t book were wonderful. I would say during non peak times, we potentially would’ve enjoyed more solitude. The area is 4-5 star but this experience had too many negatives.

Great place to camp for a couple of nights to visit local falls, do some hikes to lookouts etc… Such a beautiful area, 10 min drive to local town. Clean facilities. Only 4 spots so can’t get too crowded.
