Love ❤️ Bronte Beach Baths Enclosed swimming pool as well as natural swimming area with shallow water suitable for children as well as adults, toilet and shower facilities are also available. The beach and the surrounding area is very nice. The bogey hole sometimes might be a bit rough depending on the the conditions!!! I still remember the great times I had here as a child. Great spot for 👪 families ,today the water was dirty and conditions rough.🏖️ Review of Bronte Beach & Construction Update ​Bronte Beach remains one of Sydney's most beautiful and cherished coastal spots, but the atmosphere has been significantly impacted by two major events: the collapse of a section of the northern cliff face and the ongoing redevelopment of the Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC). ​🌊 The North Cliff Collapse: What Happened ​The northern end of Bronte Beach has been the site of a dramatic natural event that now requires major remediation work. ​The Incident: On or around Friday, August 1, 2025, a section of the sandstone cliff on the north side, reportedly about 20 meters long and 6 meters wide, collapsed onto the beach below. ​The Cause: Initial investigations and geological expert opinions strongly suggest the collapse was due to a combination of factors: ​Heavy Rainfall: Continuous and heavy rain in the weeks leading up to the incident is thought to have saturated the sandstone, weakening the rock and increasing pressure until it gave way. ​Natural Erosion: Sandstone cliffs are naturally prone to fracturing and erosion from wind and wave action over time, which was likely accelerated by the water. ​The Damage: The massive rockfall damaged a stormwater drain (or culvert) and a safety rail located beneath the cliff face. It also took out part of a frequently used staircase for beach access. ​Safety Note: Fortunately, no injuries were reported, likely because the heavy rain meant fewer people were in the immediate area at the time. The site is currently an exclusion zone as a geotechnical assessment is reviewed to guide safe remediation works. ​🏗️ Construction & Redevelopment Review ​Separate from the cliff remediation, the historic Bronte Surf Life Saving Club and Community Facilities are undergoing a significant upgrade.
