BIG4 Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park

This is my review for camping in a van Pros: Location is great, nice coastal vibe, walk across to the beach or walk to the local shops along lake. Reception Wendy was friendly & patient Bunny rabbits, ducks, kookaburras The automatic hot water tap was a nice touch in the kitchens, saves time waiting for a plastic kettle to boil Kitchens nice Cons: At 1st a nice beach view spot sounds like a good idea, but then I realised that it comes with the road that separates the beach to the camp spot, so I was overwhelmed by the sound of cars non stop, people walking past & also looking right at my open van, no shade. Not very peaceful. Construction was also underway at the beach, so you could hear all the machinery moving sand around Shaded spots in the park look very close together Showers were the worst! ☹️ A small head on the wall that you can't adjust or move around. A simple shower head replacement could fix it Pricey

Park is very nice kids love the waterslide and pool and the putt putt golf ,while we love the security of the park being fully fenced . The main amenities block has had trouble with there septic system for the last two years in a row very bad smell and toilets have blocked occasionaly . The amenities do need a good scrub lots of mould. One of the main swings at the park remain broken although it was a very easy fix. Lots of taps constantly leaking that need repairing. And the power boxes on the sites need attention. Staff in the office were very nice and helpful.
