Basic but does it well. The rooms were basic but really spacious and clean plus you couldn’t hear any people in the social areas whilst in it. Would prefer it if the top bunk had a side rail. The showers were pretty nice and also spacious. I only had a short stay here but people were nice and it seemed to have a good vibe. It’s also close to the greyhound bus stop. Overall would recommend.

Very disappointing experience at Backpackers New Castle My five friends and I stayed at Backpackers New Castle and had an extremely frustrating experience. Just a few hours before our arrival, the front desk called us to say that the six beds we had booked and paid for in advance were no longer available. In the end, we were split into different rooms, which was not what we had reserved. Additionally, the rooms we stayed in were dirty, with other guests’ clothes lying around, a bad smell, and poor maintenance overall. It was clear that there was a lack of organization and hygiene. I definitely would not recommend this hostel to anyone. The facilities and service were far below expectations.
